WHAT IS HIPAA, AND HOW DOES IT APPLY TO ME?
HIPAA refers to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 which protects the privacy and confidentiality of personal health information. Even though Compassionate Care of Shelby County does not receive federal or state funding, we require ALL of our staff and volunteers to complete HIPAA training to ensure our patients' rights to privacy and confidentiality.
